Concert by Alberto Portugheis

Featured Event: Alberto Portugheis with the London Concert Sinfonia
We are delighted to announce that on Sunday 13th July 2025, internationally acclaimed pianist Alberto Portugheis will perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major, K.488, a work considered one of the most sublime ever composed. The renowned London Concert Sinfonia, under the baton of distinguished conductor George Hlawiczka, will partner with him in this performance.
The evening opens with a rare gem: Mozart’s concert aria Ch’io mi scordi di te, K.505, written for soprano, piano, and orchestra. Marion Wilmann, celebrated for the richness of her voice and dramatic presence, will join Portugheis and the orchestra. This extraordinary work has been described by pianist Mitsuko Uchida as “the best aria that Mozart wrote.”
To conclude the programme, Maestro Hlawiczka will conduct the orchestra in Sibelius’s Symphony No. 5, Op. 82, a monumental and emotionally stirring work that remains one of the composer’s most enduring masterpieces.
The concert will be held at St. Stephen’s Church, Gloucester Road, London SW7 — a beautiful and atmospheric venue known for its superb acoustics and historic character.

Works by Alberto Portugheis: From Piano Keys to Paper

An amazingly frank and authoritative analysis of problems facing the Middle East and conflict areas in the world. This new book from Alberto Portugheis demonstrates how avaricious finance lies at the heart of the weapons industry and war. It builds on his previous book, ‘The Game of War and a Path to Peace’, which explains how understanding the way words are used, could, through ‘education’, create a society that is free from war.’ Alberto Portugheis is an international concert pianist and peace campaigner. He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in 2008
Alberto Portugheis eloquently articulates, ‘The path to peace involves recognizing that those in power often have vested interests in conflict.’

Is a collection of radical, compassionate essays interspersed with letters to a Palestinian, Ahed Hussein, who has suffered greatly from the effects of war. The author, who has spent much time in the conflict areas of the world, demonstrates that through education and understanding the way words are used, a society could be created free from war. Alberto Portugheis, who was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2008, explores how and why language is used to separate societies, and control and antagonize people. He demonstrates how educated and talented writers, with the assistance of psychologists and scientists who have great expertise in “mind control”, help politicians organize chaos, violence, and wars as they use techniques to create fear in the population so that they can offer protection. The book is dedicated to Ahed Hussein and to all people who are seeking Peace and Truth. This is the Peace Proposal the World is waiting for.
